Remembrance: Rodson E.
Ellerbusch
Rod was born in Holstein,
Iowa on November 17, 1938. He was the second of two children (Pat)
born to Earl & Mabel Ellerbusch. He graduated from the University of
Nebraska in 1961 and Stanford Law School in 1964. He served in the
Army for 6 years.
He moved to Denver from Sioux
Falls, SD in 1971. Rod has been a small business owner and for the
past 20 years has been a business and tax consultant. he was a
member of National Assoc. of Tax Professionals.
Rod was married to Patricia
Rohlffs in June 1961. They had two children: Karen Kay (Shawn) of
Littleton, and Tom Ellerbusch (Amy) of Colorado Springs. Rod had 5
grandchildren; Brian, Courtney and Michael Kay and Emily and Alyssa
Ellerbusch. Rod is preceded in death by Patricia. Rod married Rose
Pollock in 1992 and resided in Castle Pines.
Rod was an active participant
in Kiwanis International serving as Governor of the Rocky Mountain
District from 1989-1990. He was an International Trustee from
1993-1996. He was Vice President of Kiwanis International from
1996-1997 and has been a director on the Rocky Mountain District
Foundation Board from 2004-2007.
Rod was President of the
congregation, a member of the Men's Breakfast Group and a choir
member at Holy Shepherd Lutheran Church for many years. Rod had a
love of travel and reading, and had been an active skier and camper.
He enjoyed gardening, puzzles and was an avid Bronco and Rockies
fan.
